A ROOFLINE, A BIRD, AND THE SPACE BETWEEN
Some images don’t ask for much. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular—just walking, watching. But something about the way these elements came together felt worth holding onto.
I took these images while out walking in Kennebunkport, Maine—drawn to the way the roof cut into the sky, sharp and simple. A few seconds later, a bird flew through the frame, like a quiet reply.
There’s nothing dramatic about the scene, but something about the balance made me stop. I think that’s what I like most—compositions that feel calm, unplanned, and still.
Nothing grand happened, yet I think that’s what I love about them—the stillness and form.
It’s always the quietest compositions that stay with me the longest.

I return to moments like these when I need to slow down—when I want to remember that photography doesn’t always need noise to be meaningful.
As always, best of luck!
